The AeroPress works like a manual press with fast extraction.
Here’s our go-to method using our house blend Le Mixtape, for a clean, concentrated brew with no bitterness.
Steps:
Result: A clean, structured cup with body and fruit notes, a great way to bring out the complexity of Le Mixtape.
A short, concentrated brew with no bitterness. Great on its own or topped up for an Americano.
Steps:
Tip: For an Americano, add 100 to 120 g of hot water after brewing.
Even though Le Mixtape is roasted for espresso, it works beautifully in filter recipes using the AeroPress.
The AeroPress was invented in 2004 by American engineer Alan Adler, who’s also known for designing high-performance frisbees. Frustrated by bitter filter coffee and bulky espresso machines, he created a simple tool: short brew time, gentle pressure, fine filtration.
It first caught on with coffee geeks, then grew into an international cult object. Since 2008, the World AeroPress Championship has brought creative recipes from around the world.
Today, it’s a go-to for baristas and travellers alike, reliable, compact, and great at bringing out the depth of a good coffee.
